Tech quick hex question

could someone explain something about hex for me:
i need to make hex numbers into binary, but i dont know how to do this, or what it really even means

the numbers are

0x0016
0x00F8

etc there are some more, but if i figure this out i can get em, i dunno how to do the "x" part on the calculator, or what it means

There are many conventions for distinguishing hexadecimal
numbers from decimal or other bases in programs. In {C} for
example, the prefix "0x" is used, e.g. 0x694A11.
