Systems can't get windows XP to load on a new system...please help!

I just built a new system:
Asus n-force A7N8X-E mobo,
Athlon 2800+ Barton core,
1 GB corsair XMS PC3200 DDR
ATI Radeon 9600XT
120 GB SATA Maxtor
80 GB Western Digital EIDE.

The problem is, when I pop in the windows XP CD to get my OS loaded, I get an error message:

"A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to protect damage to your computer. Check for viruses on your computer. Remove any recently installed hard drives or hard drive controllers. Check your hard drive to make sure it is proper;y configured and terminated. Run CHKDSK /F to check for hard drive corruption, and then restart your computer. Technical information: Stop: 0x0000007B"

I have tried removing both the SATA and the EIDE at different times to see if that makes a difference, and the same thing happened. I have the jumpers on both drives set to master. I have run the diagnostic software included with both drives, and both drives seem to be error free, configured properly, formatted and partitioned.

I have been trying everything I can think of, and nothing seems to work. If anyone has any suggestions, they would be very much appreciated. Thanks!

I personally had never set up a system with a SATA drive but I read that you'll need to manually load the driver during Windows setup by pressing F6. Did you do that?

I just bought 2 WD HDDs for a Raid-0 system of mine and I set them to master as I have on my other systems and there is no way they would work, so I set them to cable select and they worked, go figure.
