NFS Underground Problems

Heya all, I have been playing NFS Underground no worries for a while now without a single problem. I went to play it the other day and now the screen is allways flashing and changing from black and grey and sometimes to other colors.

Here are some examples:





I have reinstalled the game twice (got rid of everything except the save files, that is the main reason im annoyed I have got this far now the game has gone and gayed up on me)

When I reinstalled the game I put it to 2 different locations each time ofr curiosity.

One thing I did was I started downloding the latest patch but I canceled it quarter of the way. Surely this wouldnt matter as nothing would have installed right?

Well anyways I hope yas can help

yes you need the new forceware drivers

i installed old driver and had the same results

if you dotn want to install the new drivers for some reason turn off the 2 things i cant remember lol

motion glare or something
and i cant remember the other one

but they are directx 9 features and the new drivers make them work

I downloaded the latest patch, and I am still having the same problems.. Anyone got any ideas what is going on? Or maybe I downloaded the wrong patch or something? Can some one give me a link to the right patch I need so I can verify that I did everything right?

Did you in chance download a windows update? If so ive been told of problems with the direct x 9 drivers and video card drivers after the update. try and reinstall direct x drivers and forceware drivers. check device manager for hardware conflicts. try and reinstall motherboard drivers again.

You dont need the Forceware drivers to play the game as I never had them and never had any problems. I would however recomend reinstalling your videocard drivers or trying the Forceware ones.

ps i downloaded the Windows update and am having no problems still with this game

NO i dont think you are understanding what im saying...
I am trying to say that it is possible that a windows update could have tried updating the motherboard drivers or graphics card drivers and they are not working correctly. I have seen this and encountered this before. The game doesnt just stop working by itself, thats why i thought it might just be a windows update. Another guess may be to disable onboard video if it isnt already, and reinstall your agp video drivers.

PS.. It doesnt matter if you installed the windows update and you can still play the game... it may have worked for you but different hardware requires different solutions.. were not all the same you know

Actually I did do a windows update and I think after that was when I noticed that it had stopped working.. I don't know why I didnt take notice of the windows update could be the problem. I'll reinstall my graphics drivers and do the other necessary things and see how I go.

Well I installed the graphics drivers again that didnt work, but I got directx 9 when I did windows update ages ago.. does that mean I have to download it again then install it?
