PC reboots while playing games

I recently rebuilt my pc about a month ago and whenever I try to play a game (doesn't matter which one) my PC reboots within about a minute. This did this until I rolled back the driver to the 45 series but it back again. HELP PLEASE!!!!!

My specs are:

CPU - XP2700+
Mobo - ASUS A7N8X-E Deluxe
HD - 40GB Maxtor ATA133
Memory - 1.5 GB
Video - ASUS FX5900 Ultra/256 mb
Sound - Audigy 2 ZS
PSU - Antec SL400 (400w)

My bios is update to the lastest and all drivers are the latest. I'm running XP Pro, with SP1 installed and DX9b. I had the video card in for a few months and never had this problem until I rebuilt my pc. The parts I added were the CPU, mobo and PSU. My CPU temp is 42 c @ idle and 47 c @ load (estimate from what I can get after a reboot) and that's with a Volcano 9 @ 4900 rpm. I'm waiting on a Thermalright SP-97 to come in today. Also to let ya all know I have a new case also a Lian-Li PC61 w/4 fans. Again thanks a million if ya can help me out on this one.

maybe you should take the CPU off, re-apply the thermal compound, then put it back on. might fix something

when you added the MB, did you get rid of all the drivers from the old MB, usually when you add a new MB, it's always best to re-format the HD, then do a clean install of your operating system and then install all the drivers for your new MB etc. IF that has already been done, try doing what " jmoore2001" recommended. I run a Athlon XP 2500 overclocked to Athlon XP 3200 and my cpu temps are 38C and 40 C at load. Make sure the heatsink and fan are mounted the correct way on the cpu, if not you may damage your cpu. Also make sure to put a THIN layer of thermal paste also.

Just some things I could think of. Good LUCK....

OK I'll wait until my new heatsink comes in then I'll try that. Also the HD was reformatted and all old driver for my mobo were removed. I'm also going to phone ASUS today to see what they think. I'll keep you all updated. OH and thanks for all your help and idea's on what to look for.
