Problem overclocking FSB, suggestions.

Hi I have an AMD 1700+ T-bred B, the ones that come unlocked stock. I can changed the multiplier fine but the problem in with the FSB. The max I can go is to 133.
When I change to something past 133 the bios shows it is changed and everything looks great. The bios even shows the new speed of the processor, but once I boot into windows every program I run says the FSB is 133 and the processor speed is respective to fsb of 133. Why is this? My specs are in my signature.
Thanks A lot
Kyle

Does that mobo have a jumper on it for "Auto" or "Jumper Free"?

Are you able to change the multiplier in the BIOS as well?

Use an app like CPU-Z to get the specs and take a screenshot of just it (ALT+PRTSCN) and post the .jpg image in your post.

I've got your manual now. You need to make sure JEN (right above the AGP slot) is set to pins 2 & 3 for Jumperfree. If you have that, then make sure in the BIOS under Advanced Menu, you have CPU Speed set to Manual.

Thank a lot for your patience, but both of those setting are already in effect. Any more ideas?

I have the latest bios from the web site, do you think I should try a earlier version?

What happens if you change the multiplier back to 11 and try to change the FSB?

I'm wondering if your CPU is really "unlocked". It doesn't sound like it is.

I will try that, I have also tried overclocking the fsb with multiplier at 9.
I am pretty sure my processor is unlocked because I didn't search for it on google and it said t bred revision B are come that way stock. I didn't believe it so I looked under the sticker and I didn't have any pits on the L1.

I'd say the latest stable BIOS should be fine. I would be surprised if you flashed to an earlier version and it worked. As a last effort you could try it, but I doubt if it would change anything.
