RAM for an Athlon XP 2500+

for RAM on a system with an Athlon XP 2500+ i should use PC2700 (aka DDR 333) correct?

That's the minimum speed you can use without overclocking the memory.

I'm running that exact combination you listed above right now.

If you're going to overclock, definatly go with some good quality PC3200... If you're not, PC2700 should be just fine.

Yup DDR400 Ram would do just fine.
you may want to look out for the low latency variety
ie. 2-2-2-6 like the hyperX / corsair LL

pc2700 (2.7g bandwidth) ddr 400 is what ya want if you plan to oclock OR if in future the 3200+ is in your path. Sides 400 at 333 speed runs VERY cool. Nice to have anyways. Check newegg for Buffalo mem. I got a stick of 512mb for $80 couldnt be happier. Its really samsung chips with a winboand spd chip. very comapt with most bios's and very speedy!
