SOunds error on linux

when i boot up i get this window

Sound server warning message:
Cant set realtime scheduling priority.
You need to run artswrapper as root or setuid root. This means that you will likely not b able to produce acceptable sounds (i.e. without clicks and breaks).

I do get weird static , clicking, breaking sounds once ina while, and im trien to resolve this but i cant figure it out.

ANyone know what i could do?

Yote

you don't have to use the arts sound server -turn it off

the clicking sounds could also have to do with shared IRQ/DMA resource -if the noise persists you might try changing BIOS settings for plug-n-play OS, and disable unused resource hogs like serial or parallel ports that are not in use, thereby freeing up those resources

Yeah, agreed. Arts causes more trouble than it's worth. I always disable it first thing on a new install.

KDE control center, under "Sound/Sound Server" you can disable the arts sound server from starting up
