do you have the latest nvidia drivers installed?

www.nvidia.com

how about direct x 9?

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/directx/default.aspx

did you have another video card installed before you installed the FX? (if so did you un-install the old video card drivers)

What are your temperatures like?

system specs?

in other words we need more info about your computer.

Ok ...does your video card have active cooling?...in other words does it have a fan?
its not so much your CPU temps as maybe the video cards temps.
You can Download Aida32 personal edition here...
http://www.aida32.hu/aida-download.php?bit=32
install it and then look under "motherboard"...."sensor" to find you CPU temps and your board temps...
it may also pick up your video card temps if the card supports it.
If not you could keep the side off of the computer when you start it up and then start your game.... After grounding yourself by touching the metal frame of your case you can touch "carefully" the back of your video card where the GPU is... opposite side of the heatsink...
is it fairly hot when playing games?

OK.. now I'm lost...
You had a card before, you uninstalled (took out) the old one right?
Then you installed the new one on the system right?
Or you didn't do this and had someone else do it?

Anyway, have you checked your system temperatures?
Also, check your power supply output.
If you have an old system, maybe you have an old low wattage Power Supply Unit!

IT seems you DO have an old system (AMD T-Bird 1000).
So please check if your power supply has enough juice (must be at least 300W or better).
Also, what motherboard do you have?

5) No it wont tell the Temp of the computer, however it feels as hot as it usally does!

6) I cant tell you if the Card is hot when playing games because it freezes about 10sec into any game I choose to load!!

7) Where can I find the power supply for the PC, Sorry about this, its proberbly so simple but im a complete noob when it comes to this!!!
