F and G drive gone + more problems

Well it seems that i'm having some little problems.

Using Windows 2000, i reinstalled a week ago and now i'm starting to have problems.

- The HD is making noise and it was not like that before.

- I can't put anything on disquettes, it says that it's not formatted but they are formatted, i use them all the time without any problems.

- The F & G drives are not their anymore and even Direct CD doesn't detect them.

Is there a Repair function with Win 2000 like XP or is there any information about the problems that i'm having right now.

I have to mention that it is not my computer, i reinstalled the OS on this machine and when i left it was working fine. I'm looking for information about what can be the cause of that.

Thanks for your time.

You can boot from your 2K CD and there is an option to repair the installation.

Update...

I was troubleshooting the computer and find out that the floppy drive is on his way out.

I unplug it and F & G were back and working fine. I tried Recovery Console and Repair before that and of course none of them fix the problem.

The floppy drive is back but it will be replaced in a near future. The computer is now working fine.

Thanks
