Help, no boot. a7v133

Specs;
Asus A7V133
1g Athlon
256mb Crucial PC133
3D Rage video card
52x Liteon CDRW
250w p/s (known good)

Here's the problem; It goes through the boot process fine, then locks up at a blinking curser when I expect it to start seeing the boot devices. It just sits there and curses. I've tried a million different things, no go. I got this board from a friend that bought it used and did the same thing to him. Is it the board(duh!), or is it something I'm over looking that would make it hang at boot?

Just guessing , Jerry, but does that mobo have the clear CMOS jumper set to "clear" from the factory, instead of "save"?

Yeah, I cleared the cmos and checked every jumper on the board with the manual. It has a lot of jumpers and pin settings.

I have the same mobo (a7v133c) but I don't have a jumper for the cmos. I wondered if you got your "jen" jumpers wrong. You can set your cpu, fsb, and voltage by softset (by bios) or with switches and jumpers on board. If you used the softset then the switches and jumpers have to be in certain positions and "jen" enabled. Is your manual like mine? Black cover - a7v133, a7v133c printed on it? Need more details let me know.

You're right about the cmos. I have checked so many jumpers on this board it's unreal. I have it set for jumperless and have double checked all of the dip switches and jumpers.

One thing that does confuse me is the manual is backwards from the mobo itself on the description of the on/off dip switches. It has arrows on the switch to which is on, but its upside down compared to the manual.

Hmm... my manual shows the right orientation but still follow the arrow for "on". Here's mine for softset:

DSW(5 switches) all off

DSFID(6 switches) switch 5 and 6 are on.

VID(1-4) all (four jumpers) on pin 3 and 4

JEN on pin 2 and 3

See if that matches your manual.
