Outdoors Woke Up To A Trojan this A.M.

VerifierBug.class

Did my weekly (now scheduled for daily) scan last night and woke up to lovely little fellow.

Went onto my other machine and all I could find is probably got it on a web page with malicious code.

Went to quarantine and deleted it, scanned registry and repaired everything that was wrong.

BTW, everything that was wrong was of no surprise with this one exception:

Never seen this show up before.

Norton won't repair the problem and I don't know what it is.

DotNetInstaller.exe doesn't sound good.

And the answer is ............................................??

Thanks!!

After all the frustration of googling the virus and scanning and rescanning and re-booting it never ocurred to me to Google this.

Jack Nicolson's line in "A Few Good Men" comes to mind ........

"Don't I feel like an .........."

Do you have all your Windows updates Bill? Malicious code execution is taken care of by some of the updates in the Critical Updates section.

Spybot may have stopped this as well if you use the, "Stop all bad downloads silently" feature on the Immunize panel.

Cheers!
