Overclocking Plan- 1.53ghz - 2.25ghz- HELP!

Hello

I got my hands on an unlocked one of the JIUHB XP1800+ chips, and it's happily running in my machine at 2175 MHz. The JIUHB is apparently a downrated 2400 or 2600 (as far as I can tell).

I have currently: Upped the VCore to 1.628v
Set the FSB to 174Mhz
Set the DRAMV to 2.700v

The current temp readings at low load are:

System: 30 deg C
CPUA: 28 deg C

and rise at high load to:

System: 42 deg C
CPUA: 48 deg C

Here's my setup:

Gigabyte GA7VAX Mobo (KT400)
AMD Athlon 1800+ (JIUHB) @ 2174mhz
512MB Generic PC2100 DIMM (2x256)
Enermax 400 w PSU

All air cooled, no mods except the unlocked processor. CPU is using an AKASA Silver Mountain Q2 HSF

I think I need to swap the memory for PC3200 stuff to really begin the thrashing. What do you think, and does anybody have any tips?

I think there's good mileage in this machine yet.

well, if your mobo supports upping the mem, go for it...that will help with benchmarking etc. As far as your overclock, i run a athlon 2500, so not sure on how far you can take your cpu. But looks to be running good. keep posting your resutls, interested in knowing what it benchmarks.
