Is my monitor going or something?

Hi all, I just noticed that my monitor is acting odd. You know like when you put your digital camera and look through it toward the screen and it shows those line looking things moving up and down? It's doing this now except it's doing it randomly and going very fast on the screen. Could it be my monitor going bad or something else?

I bought my monitor brand new in June of 2002 bundled up with an HP, so I don't think it would be going dead yet....

I've also read where wireless signals could make the display funky but, I have added nothing new within the past month. I have a wireless keyboard, wireless mouse, cordless phone, 802.11b, and 802.11g network (from two routers)...

Or maybe my video card is going bad? I bought this used GeForce2 GTS 64mb for $20 back in October.

Well, any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

More than likely it's the video card going out on you. Maybe try another card and or monitor if you have one available. If not, you can find some pretty good deals on the GF4 MX440's and even GF4 Ti4200's.

What is your refresh rate? Maybe set at 60 hz?

Right click the wallpaper, Display properties.
Settings tab/advanced button/adapter tab/list all modes button

72 or 75 hertz give it a little more "snap". Higher settings begin adding stress to the components.

Well...it goes on and off...it only does the wavy lines sometimes....I only have it set at 60 hz because that's all this monitor supports 1280x1024. I can't stand anything bigger than that resolution. So I honestly don't think it could be the video card. Any other ideas?
