any specific reason you dont want onboard sound or video? Both are very easily turned off by 1 option in the BIOS.

The majority of mid/upper mobos all at least have onboard sound. Onboard video isnt quite so common so its easy to find one without that.

Yah, almost all mobos will come with sound, unless it is some special board for servers or something.

ya it is kinda hard to get one without sound and lan now adays for a "big player"

onboard sound is pretty good now adays .

pretty much all motherboards are good now adays , nomatter who makes it . most of todays problem come from operator error . people that don't know what they are doing putting it together or being cheap and not getting good parts to go with it . not saying parts that don't cost alot are cheap , i mean cheap in quality not cost . there are lots of parts that are low cost and good quality .

a couple years back you could find boards with no onboard sound quite easily....but now the quality of onboard sound has improved greatly plus the cost of everything has fallen greatly.....for those reasons I doubt you will find a modern board with no sound.

Most nowadays have onboard sound. Some, like the Abit NF7-S with SoundStorm rival high end sound cards. On board LAN is awsome as some are equipped with Gigabyte LAN.

The reason I asked this is because I may be building a computer for music studio purposes only. I've been looking at sound cards for the purpose of multi track recording, so sound is not needed.
As for onboard graphics, well I guess for what this computer would be used for, that would probably be ok, though I have spare graphic cards laying around.
Was just curiouse if there was any good quality boards that did not have the on board stuff.
We just got a digital recorder, so don't really know if I'll be building a computer after all for this purpose.
Thanks for you coments.....
