connection issues...

i've got a 1998 366 emachine.....when I try dialup (using Juno), I often get the "cannot detect a dial tone" error msg??!! I've double checked my modem setup, access numbers, etc......about 1/4 of the time I am able to connect though...............any thoughts?

That has to do with a prob with your phone line or modem. You should attach a phone to the line and ensure that it's working properly.

I had a couple of friends with that problem and it was their modem. It seemed to be working fine from Windows but it were giving a no dial tone error. Sure enough when they changed their modem they were able to dial up successfully.
