Packard Bell - No Master CD's

A friend just bought a PB Syn 463.
The front of the case reads Synera.

Model Packard Bell NEC Syn 463
Win95 B (OSR2) (build 4.3.1212)
Intel MOBO AL440LX AA681539-306
BIOS: 4A4LL0X0.11a.0009.P07 01/27/98
333 MHz CPU (Intel)
128 MB's RAM (64MB's x 2)
Maxtor 88400D8, 8.38 Gig HDD
Goldstar CD-ROM
S3 Inc. ViRGE GX2 Display Adapter
Yamaha OPL3-SAx Game Port
Yamaha OPL3-SAx Sound System

I want to format the HDD and install either Win98se or WinME or WinY2K. I can deal with the Services in Y2K. This is why this is concidered as an option of O/S.

With no Master CD's available what will I be up against as far as drivers go? How proprietary are these old rigs?

Cheers!

Ill be surprised if you have a problem with win 2000...
after doing windows update just check the device manager to be sure everything is working... Ive done similar setups with win 2000 pro and havent had a problem

I went with Win98se. The only problem I had was with the S3 ViRGE /GX2 (357) drivers. A little tough to find.

Thanks for the reply,
Cheers!
