So, I have a cable conenction, and a couple PC's. I'm thinking that I need a broadband router with a small built in switch.

I'm looking for cheap...... suggestions? Features? Etc?

Thanks

I'll put on a flak vest and say that pretty much any broadband router under $70 is the same these days. They all come with built in firewalls and virtual server options. I had a d-link for a long time that worked well, though the interface was clunky. I have a US Robotics .11g + 4 RJ45 now and it's a slick little setup. It doesn't have any more options than my d-link did, but the interface is much more user friendly. The more you spend, the better software you get, I think is what happens these days.

Well I have been using a Linksys Broadband Router BEFSR41 has 4 ports, comes with dhcp, hardware firewall, great for home use.. there is also an 8 port version of it, you can add a hub if you want...

I found a netgear 4 port router for $28. Figured I'd give it a shot. We'll see how it works out. I mainly just have the one Windows PC, and a Linux machine that I'm playing with. I want to get the Linux PC on the internet do I can play around with it.

You might want to plan ahead and have wireless capability. Also, get one that looks cool.
