hmm, you could take a picture...then make it your desktop background...then set it so that there are no desktop icons.....thats probably as close as you can get

What operating system do you have?

or you may be able to just use "paint" to do it...by clicking "view bitmap" which makes it cover the whole screen

I want to make an image with a transparent window and have it look like glass or somewhat like glass with a glossy look to it.

What I am trying to do is make a flash movie where I get sucked into my monitor and i see people or what not go by and I am trying to escape.

Ok. We've established that you know how to spell "Hi". Other than that I have no idea what that SWF file is supposed to show us.

Just pretend that the box with the window is your monitor. Your are in the inside looking out. I am trying to demonstrate with the HI as though its on the other side of the monitor and the white space is your screen. I hope that helps

Then shouldn't the letters be backwards?

well you could start this buy putting in pictures of pc boards with various circuits on the sides and the floor so you can just see a bit of the edges (i kinda stole this from weird al's its all about the pentuims video)

also you could dull the screen a bit and mabey put in a little bit of glare heck get creative put some finger smudges on it

also i think this is just wa quick sample so you couldnt take care of it but just to make sure make it so the stuff stays in the screen

Well, arguably there wouldn't be any glare of glass from the inside of a screen anyways. That's not what is going to sell the image. I think the reverse of whatever is on the screen is going to be more important.
