Lost Win XP administrator password

A costumer brought in his HP pravilion computer. The windows XP home loader is not booting. He does not have the administrator password for recovery console. Is there a way to crack the password?

Thank you

Manny

I found another solution

Boot up with DOS and delete the sam.exe and sam.log files from Winnt\system32\config in your hard drive,

Now when you boot up in NT/2000/XP the password on your built-in administrator account will be blank (No password). This solution works only if your hard drive is FAT32.

If it is NTFS you'll need to move the drive to another NTFS system as a second drive or get one of the various NTFS boot disks to do the same thing.
