Can someone lend some info on RAM?

Hi,

I was wondering if someone could answer a few questions I have regarding RAM:

1) What's the best RAM available today?

2) What is the ranking in which it would go from best to worst?

3) Also what does this mean in regards to this kind of RAM...512
3300 ddr, what does the 3300 number mean, I've seen that it
can have different numbers at times?
