What's the difference between the FX 5900 and the FX 5900XT ?? I can't find any info about it, even on nvidia.com

The 5900XT is essentially a down-clocked GeForce FX 5900/5950 Ultra. It probably should have been called the 5900SE, but nVidia wanted to tap ATI's marketing potential with the XT name.

If you want the best price-to-performance ratio from nVidia right now, the 5900XT is your best bet. I recommend skimming this review of a 5900XT card from AOpen....

Hope this helps,

The only difference is the 2.8ns memory on the "XT" instead of the regular 2.2ns.

If you look on pricegrabber you can get the BFG Asylum GeForce FX 5900 for only $155.

Give it a couple of weeks, the prices should adjust accordingly. Vendors are scalping because it is a "new" part.
