whats the best virus removing program?

hi...
..i am using norton 2004.. and i am not satisfied with this product...i keep getting error messages all the time and also the pc speed slows down very drastically!.
please tell me what r the other virus programs out there that can remove all the virus and without a error message on the windows stomach, head or whatever.

every program has its own ways of removing viruses not not all viruses can be removed sometimes.

I have used Symantec / Nortons since the windows 3.1 days but there seems to be a lot of issues with the 2004 apps from them.
Thinking of going with AVG (GZ3 link) myself next time around.
I've heard and read good things about there apps.

uninstalled norton2004....installing avg anti-virus free edition...

I've had norton antivirus 2002 and 2003 and NIS 2002 and I had so many problems with them that I ended up switching to ZA and AVG. I've had no problems with them.
