ok, my brother is installing his new harddrive. he wants to keep things like music but get rid of evrything else and start fresh. he is using maxblast (doesnt have access to win 98 floppy)

after he gets his drive setup, is he able to drag files over, then use maxblast to format the old drive then re install windows xp (possibly calling microsoft to re install)

Use the new drive and install fresh on that. Then, put that drive in as a primary and the old drive as the secondary. This way, when XP boots to the new drive, it'll see the old HDD as a data drive - and you'll be able to pull all your info off as needed.

Don't bother with Maxblast. Just format the drive during the Windows XP install.
