how sneaky is M$??

i m messing with a friends machine that seems to have lost(?) ms word. all the shortcuts are there and the files she created, but the program itself is gone.

what i was curious about is this:

she installed word with a disc she brought home from work and returned. now,is it possible, while running windows update or?,that ms noticed that the install was on two different machines and uninstalled it unbeknownst to her??

sound pretty farfetched,but......[insert eerie music here]

thanks,eh??

she just lost word? lucky her...
i lost m$office (excel, word, etc)...

edit** dont take my word for it but... i think m$ goes by hardware and whatnot when it generates the serial number for m$ software being installed on said machine... i could be wrong tho.
