Opinions on Fedora

What are your opinions? Any idea how it compares to other distros? I'm currently using Suse 8.2.

I like it. After a couple initial compilation problems (newer version of gcc I guess), most maintained software seems to be compiling trouble free. I suspect because this release is RedHat's first step towards the Linux Standard Base. The graphical boot screen is very nice (pretty and still informative), openoffice is the latest release and well integrated. The only thing it's missing out of the box IMO (or download) is mp3 support and the opera web browser

Yeah I haven't tried it (yet) but I've heard it's very similar to RH, considering it comes from the minds of RH.

I just read some Fedora book reviews and it's been referred to as the equivalent of Red Hat 10. If I remember right, I also read that the kernel doesn't currently support WineX 3.1. I've always liked Suse the best but if it supports winmodems I may give it a try.
