Advice for new video/graphics card

Hey, I own an HP Pavilion Home PC; it has an NVidia GeForce 4 MX graphics card "with 64 MB DDR shared video memory." Anyway, I know this card is really crappy for playing PC games; when I bought the PC, if I'd known what I know now, I'd have avoided this problem, but now I am stuck with it, so I would like to replace the card. I would like to replace it with an ATI All-In-Wonder card. My question is, CAN I replace it with an ATI All-In-Wonder??? Or has HP engineered my computer where I can only replace the card with another NVidia???

If you have a agp port it should all be fine. (the all-in-wonder series is ATI not Nvidia)

if it is shared video memory then it is probobly integrated graphics so you may have an agp slot or you may not you should figure that out...you should also figure out how fast it is (1x 2x 4x 8x) if you dont have an agp slot your pretty much stuck to pci video which wont be much better

i also have an hp pavilion, and changed my graphics card to a aiw card. works great

just as cysus and Broadsword2004 check to see if u have agp slot n youll be fine, just uninstall the drivers for nvidia first b4 putting the aiw card.

Hey, thanx for all the advice everyone, but what is an agp slot for exactly?? Like, wouldn't I just remove the current card and put in the new card? Or does the new card go into the agp slot but the NVIDIA would be removed regardless?? My PC model is an HP Pavilion a230n. I plan to add cable TV capability to my PC when (if) I add the All-In-Wonder, so the TV stuff would stick out the back of the PC I know, just in case that means anything.

agp slot is usually black and at the top of the slots...if your old card is agp then yes you would just replace it
