Knoppix/mouse

I have downloaded, burned, etc., Knoppix. The computer boots up in Knoppix, but the mouse will not move.

I have an extremely old Microsoft mouse, probably as much as 9-10 years old. (System requirements state at least DOS version 2.0, or higher required lol). The manual also gives instructions for setting up the mouse in Win 3.0 or 3.1. I am running XP and did not load any drivers, etc. and have no mouse problems with XP.

Did some shopping today and all mice seemed to have Windows XX as a system requirement. Nothing regarding Linux.

How do I get a mouse to work in Knoppix. Thanks to all who posted on Knoppix. I read it as a lurker and decided to try it.

At the knoppix boot prompt type this:
knoppix nowheelmouse.
This is for a regular ps/2 mouse.

Thanks. Still does not work. I am going to build another computer for experimenting and mucking around. Will try again when I get that done (probably in about a week).
