I always use my old parts{for lack of better word} to upgrade my other computers..
You think this should be a great computer??? I am not trying to have the best at any time. To me this feels like the way to go so that I will see an increase in preformance..
Let me know your thoughts...do you see any trouble with any or all of the components?? let me know...
This should be an order within the next 4 to 6 weeks.
Rick

how much is the total cost? also, what case will you get? I recommend one with a window, say, a Chieftec so you can show off your parts.

*edit,
your current system is pretty close to mine...though I only have two 120gig drives, same kind. I still have about 80-100gigs free...even with redundant backups.
if you plan to sell your old system, I recommend selling the parts seperate or in small bundles on eBay or in our own Reseller's Trade forum here on TechIMO. selling the whole system over the internet isn't worth it in the end unless you have a minimum accepted price.
imo, don't sell it...you'd be losing something special, lol. the "edit" is my real post, lol. I rushed to post the last response, because I'm watching "Blow" on tv, great movie! anywhoo, gl with your new system, looks sweet!

Why are you upgrading the first PC at all??? It destroys the PC configs of most peoples systems. It's nearly on par with the database servers at my company!!

well, it goes like this...
My girlfried need a computer. So to get there, I will do like I always do. Since when I do upgrade, my OLD parts are not really old. Them are put in my son's, which at the moment is a 2000. Then his parts are used for a new build.. This is all done with my tax check. At least I am blowing it on something I like and they all benafit. I was just going to get the monitor and a printer but she is the one that talked me into doing this.
After I have looked, some of the parts have changed. will edit to reflect the new changes.
The monitor will be bought locally.

I do the same at my house. Trickle down economy :-) Whenever I upgrade, it's like musical chairs with the parts going into my 3 kid's computers. Keeps everyone going.
