Kids Problem PC Crashes Watching Video

I am hopeing that someone can help me out here, and I hope that its in the right section, Here we go, I fitted a Pioneer DVD106 burner but when I opened up my PC it was full off dust, But I didnt have a can of compressed air, so I used my hoover, being careful what I was doing, then I fitted my DVD burner, and now when I watch video or my kids browse sites like Barbie or Bratz, they sites have flash animatin and they can browse the site for about 1 hr then thenscreen freezes and PC crashes, and a red LED flashes were a green LED should be to indicate HD activity, then the PC wont start for about 10 mins, its like I need to wait for something to cool down before it will boot up again, everything was OK before I opened it up to fit my burner, I was thinking that it could be my fans but I dont now how to test them to find out if they are not working properly, thx for any response
