Gaming WuPDATER .EXE?????????????

im using windowsxp and i wonder why every time i go to shut down my computer this program holds it up ? Could it be zone alarm problem?

That file is linked to an adware application, likely PeopleOnPage.

I recommend running Adware and Spyboot to search for the originating adware.

If those two fail, then try CWS Shredder....

One of the three utilities should destroy the offending adware application. If not, there is always the manual method....

I ran onf the programs you sugggested and now it shuts down very well .

Actually I ran ad aware 6 and it stilll happens .Could it be something with zone alarm?

nygiant,

had the same problem, and ran adaware and spybot.

I eventually got rid of it, and no its has nothing to do with zone alarm.

You need to go into your registry and delete it that way, otherwise it just keeps coming back.

Run adaware again, and take note of where it is, then go thru your registry and delete it.

Also make sure that you disable System Restore when you do a cleanup. Many viruses and spyware like to hide in the restore files

sometimes adaware cant remove stuff while the stuff is running..so it will tell you that it has to reboot...and it will remove it upon reboot....could that be the case? run it again and see if it tells you that....
