XP Home install with a Pro CD?

A Friend of mine has an OEM XP Home license and wants to install XP home on his system, so i was going to lend him my pro CD.

Can he install the home version with an XP Pro CD? Will he be able to activate it? Will XP know that if he types in a Home authorization license to install the Home version, or does he need to use an XP Home installation CD?

I don't think so.. You will need to modify the CD in order to install WinXP Home. Yeah OS version (home and pro) have their own cd.

Kinda thought so. thanks. It will just mean he'll have to wait 'til after the weekend to lend him my XP Home CD. Thought he bought a pro license, but nope, it was for Home! Oops!
