Search Problem

whenever i go to start and then search my computer stops responding and i dont know whats causing it i try it with another user and nothing happens it works fine anybody know whats wrong

runing on windows xp pro
256 megs of ram
mobo is fic az11/az31

Just out of curiosity, Have you Updated your Virus Scan? run a full system Scan? Do you have Spyware/Adware programs such as Adaware and SpyBot? and have you run them recently?

yeah i do have ad-aware and spybot search and destroy i also have avg and mcafee and ran all of them and the problem is still there
