WIN2K GPO applied to DC by mistake.. now locked out of server MMC

I applied my GPOs to the domain at teh root so now my DC is locked down with the same policy as teh workstations! I cannot open any MMC applets inlcuding REGEDIT ! Unfortunately, my tape backups overwrite the same tape every nite and now i have no tape to go back to system state. Kinda stuck.. need help. Any way to import a reg from a differetn WIN 2K server to undo changes? which key? Is there a way to edit the policies in the SYSVOL with a utility to undo it?

THANKS!

GPO Applied

Problem seems to be fixed!

Copied the %system%\SYSVOL\sysvol\YourDomain.com\Policies

to a local drive on my workstation. Then i copied them again to a folder on my desktop as a backup. I then deleted the GptTmpl.inf in both folders that i had (the name of the folders appear like GUID numbers) and then copied one folder back over and opened the MMC to edit it back to defaults. then copied the other folder back over, which didnt seem to do anything at all.

After deleting the folders from policies folder, i was able to open MMC's again.. but couldnt open the Domain policy, local policy, or GPO MMC snap in as the Templates were gone when i deleted the folders. So, by copying back the folders minus the INF file, it could open the templates, and it didnt seem to complain about missing any info from it. So far , all is well.. i now i can get some sleep!
