Is this a good hard drive?
Hey i am currently looking for a new hard drive and i found this one on tiger direct http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...asp?EdpNo=4497
Do you guys think its a good one for the money?

oh yeah that is definitley a good deal the only thing is it is ATA-100, but for that price its worth it, and your mobo may only support ATA-100 anyway

i have a gigabyte 7vaxp. does any one know if this drive will work on my mobo?

Whether it's ATA/100 or ATA/133 is irrelevant, as no drive challenges either interface.
The 7200.7 isn't a particuarly high-performing drive, but it is very quiet. The price, after rebate is pretty good for the size.

FYI: your board supports ATA133 RAID functionality too, if you ever decide to use it.. which could boost performance (RAID0)

well it looks like i will be send off an order to tigerdirect. I will be useing this mainly for back up and for my mp3's and all my other files becuase my 80gig is just about filed  .(LOL)
