Forget IE Go Mozilla Firebird!

After years of service I have retired Internet Explorer from the default webrowser and and now happy with Mozilla Firebird I must say I really like this program I had a little trouble at first getting Java to load up correctly but its playing nice now I like the tab interface and I like all the niffty extentions you can install. Right now I have installed Google, Yahoo, Astalavista, Amazon, and some Bable fish translators into my search bar. I also installed a extention to make all external web links open up in a new tab. Anybody else have favorite extentions or theme? I recomend every buddy give this program a try if you arent already using it.

one more question, I have set Firebird as the default web browser. If I click a link in a MSN Messenger chat box it will open up in firebird but if I click the e-mail link or the box that pops up when you get a new e-mail it opens up IE... anybody know a work around?

I was looking at that and right now the defualt is Outlook express. The part I am talking about is MSN messenger tells you when you get an e-mail. When you click the link to get the e-mail it opens up a web browser and logs into hotmail for you. It is ignorning my default web browswer and just using IE... I dont mind using IE just for my e-mail but it would be nice if I could get it to open up in Mozilla Firebird.

Go to control panel>internet options>change default email to Mozilla. And congrats on getting a superior web browser.

If thats not what youre looking for I believe theres a little thing at the bottom left of the status bar of a mozilla page called Mail/newsgroups. Try that.

MS isn't big on letting you swap out other applications for IE, OE etc.
Might just not be possible, maybe in a new version??
Glad to see another person has ditched IE in favour of another open source, stable, powerful tool. If only people would do the same with Windows itself.

glad to see another firebird fan allthough you can't completely dittch IE yest due to the fact that firebird doesn't render all pages as well as IE nor do all websites support firebird yet

I've switched before, but I switched back. Mozilla / Mozilla FB was good, (I loved how it automatically transfered all my settings) but alot of sites showed up wierd. They were usually not big sites that got messed up. Things like http://www.Halo-Skins.com and others. It also seamed to load pictures slower. No offense, but I think IE is better.
