New memory

I just bought a gig of Corsair XMS PC3200 and i would like to make sure im getting the full performance out of it because i ran 3DMark 2003 and my score went down from 6690 to 6318 and before i only had 512mb of Crucial PC3200 ram. So in the bios setting should i have Memory Frequency BY SPD or BY Auto. And if there is anyother tips you can help me out with. I do notice that my computer is faster with load times and shutting down. I jsut want to know why my score went down instead of up?

That looks correct. You can try setting manual memory timings for a little improvement. There are guides online that can help you do that.
