Quiet DVD-ROM

Hello.

I need an extra silent dvd-rom drive for my htpc project.
I can't find any info on the dBa rating of drives from the manuf sites and can't find any comparisons/reviews either.

Does someone know a good site that also lists the dBa of running unit? Or, does someone have a drive that's extremely silent?

I've been using LiteOn DVDROMs in some system builds, and sometimes I have to look at the activity light on the front of the drive to see if it's spinning up and reading. The LiteOn's use a vibration dampener on the spindle hub that works pretty darn good, even with a CD that is really off balance

Good, it says they can be mount vertically.
Guess I'll go for one of those then (assuming I can find one black)

also i have noticed a difference between different cases i can't really recall a specific material that was better though

Uh, if you check my location, you can see that I live in finland.
That's not in the united states, or puerto rico.

Finnish dealers don't seem to offer black ones, only cdrw-dvd combo drives are offered black
