reading an old smart media card

hey, my friend has an old digital camera that she has been unable to extract some old photos from. I don't think she has the old software and cable. i believe its the Minolta Dimage V, and only can take 640x480 photos. Inside the camera is a 2mb 5v Minolta Smart Media card --- this stores all the photos, it appears to read fine within the camera, but neither of us have so far been able to find a card reader that could effectively read this old card. we have tried her generic card reader, my own lexar 7-in-1 USB2 reader as well as a Canon i470D printer and have had no real luck. We also took the card to a photo place and their [sony] machine was unable to read it. Any ideas on a product that might possibly read this card?

If it is recognised properly from your card reader, you should be able to right click - open with- on it. something like irfanview should work. If not then it is probably in some sort of proprietary format used by minolta. If you have the model number info on the camera we can probably find something that will read it.
