Abit BE6 Overclock

I want to overclock my PIII 450mhz cpu in this motherboard but I can't seem to get it straight. I go into CMOS and change settings and the machine will not boot?? It gives me a CPU unworkable check settings in CMOS error message and still does not alter the speed of the processor. Is there some type of security that I have to bypass in order to overclock the processor???

Please help

Seeing as how your PIII/450 is probably a Katami core, you're not going to get much out of it above it's default settings.

No, "Katami" is a codename for a Pentium core.

You might see . . .

Katami
Coppermine
Tualatin
Northwood
Prescott

EDIT - I misinformed you, it's "Katmai". There's a list here that has just about all of 'em.

Send a message via ICQ to Omardeth Send a message via Yahoo to Omardeth
also if your trying to change the multiplier it won't work . the multiplier is locked on them . all you will be able to do is change the fsb . the be6 is a great overclocking board it will also let you change the divider on the pci and apg slots .
