Do I need more memory?

Using Giga-byte ga-7dx+ mob and Gigabyte Utility Manager has the following info;

Memory Notification - free space less than 5%


Memory Status/

Total Virtual Memory 2 097 024KB
Available Virtual Memory 2 081 276KB

Total Physical Memory 261 560KB
Available Physical Memory 71 124KB

Do I need to upgrade memory and what is Virtual Memory?

Virtual memory is space set aside on the hard drive to function as memory. If your gaming I would suggest 512mb of ram or more. 256mb isn't going to be enough.

Since you've still got 70 of your 256 megabytes available, more RAM isn't going to do much for you.

virtual memory basically uses part of ur harddrive as memory.... i personally dont think you need ram unless you notice applications are running slow... besides u got 70 free megs of ram

Might be your Virtual Memory is using all of the space on your hds. Are they almost full ? What is your operating system ?

512 mb is nice but 256 is fine.
