Gaming Northbridge when overclocking

i just bought a koolance exos aluminum system (it hasnt arrived yet though )... and i was wondering if i should add the motherboard chipset waterblock to the system. does the northbridge require water cooling?

I doubt it requires it, or most people's would have burned up by now I'd say it depends on what cooling you've got on there now. If you've got active cooling, or a good sized heatsink, I wouldn't worry about it. If you've got a small HS with no fan, then it wouldn't hurt.

The stock HS that came with my 8RDA+ was small and got very hot, especially when OCing via the FSB. I replaced it with a Vantec IceBurg and its nice and cool, so it depends on what you've got at the moment.

Might not be a bad idea if you are shooting for quietness and not running case fans, or overclocking and getting things toasty warm, wait and see how things go then easily add it in if you think its needed...

i see i see. the thing is, it is an msi k7 delta-L nforce2 motherboard... and it is a passive cooling heatsink (meaning no fan). it does get a little warm, but nothing to be scared about i think. i will see how everything goes.
