VNC and win2kpro problems... can anyone offer advice?

Hi all, I use RealVNC to work with several compters that I keep in my office. I have found it to be a fantastic program. Currently, I'm trying to run it as a server on a win2kpro machine (fully windows updated). There have been some problems:

1) When the server is running, the computer runs fine if you are actually physically at it and using it. However, as soon as someone logs on, everything drops to an absolute crawl. Not only for the person who is vnc'ing into the machine, but also if you're physically at the machine as well.

I'm stumped and would love any suggestions that you all have.

thanks
-Z

Does CPU utilization go up (Task Manager)? If so, what process is using it the most... VNC?

yeah!... it skyrockets... and VNC is the culprit, but I'm not sure why. I have this running on other win2kpro systems and everything is dandy. I will mention that it seems to be running pretty much fine (now that I remembered to uninstall proxy host [the other program i previously used]), but it runs particularly slow when I have mirc on in the background. I doubt that helps, but it's just one more piece of info.
