How to prevent a user from login?

I'm using Mandrake 9.2 with KDE and I have a user that I only want to be able to login to the console but not start X. Doesn anybody know how that might be accomplished?

sure! restrict permisions to X - i.e chmod 544 /usr/X11R6/bin/startx and chmod 544 /usr/X11R6/bin/X - that way only the owner (better be root!) can open it. if other users need it tehn create a a group for X users only.
