1 GB flash drive that works in DOS

Does anyone know of a specific brand of 1GB flash drive that will work in DOS with the USBASPI and DI1000DD drivers (from Panasonic). I have a Kanguru MicroDrive 2.0 but that does not seem to be recognized.

Ooohhhh....tough question.

Looking around in Google I found this:

http://www.bootdisk.com/usb.htm
http://www.wlug.org.nz/HowToBootUSBFromDOS

Hope it helps!

If it works, send a message to Kanguru about it. In their FAQ it says that the microdrive will NOT work under DOS.

Yeah seen both of those already, everywhere just seems to be a bit sketchy on what specific brands of devices they have gotten to work. I don't think the Kanguru will. Was hoping someone here may have done it with a different brand drive and could tell me what brand is was.

You probably can get it to work. If the Linux team cna, then the code can be ported as drivers to DOS. Problem is that really good USB support in Linux is fairly recent and it may take a while.

The guys over at www.freedos.org have USB support up. I'm not sure about USB Mass Storage (flash drive) support though. The code exists in the open source world, it's jsut a matter of porting it to DOS.

explains some things about USB in DOS, even ouches a bit on mass storage devices.

BTW, have you tried the DUSE drivers? They might work (they mention storage media in the description, and sites say they work with more than poketec products):
