ASUS SATA setup after windows??

For some reason I am having trouble setting up a SATA hard drive. Windows is already installed so I cant do the "insert floppy and hit F6" thing when installing windows for the first time. I am using ASUS A7N8X Deluxe Rev2, Maxtor 80Gig SATA and WinXP.

The strange part is that both the old IDE drive and the new SATA drive show up in the device manager showing no problems but I dont have access to the new drive through "My Computer"... Maybe I am just really being stupid here and just need to set a drive letter or something... This new SeriaL stuff really has me stumped!

BTW, I do not need RAID.

Help

I don't know if this will fix it, but if all you do need to do is assign a drive letter, here is how you could do it.

Right Click 'My Computer'
Select 'Manage'
Find and select the tree option that says 'Disk Management'

Here you will be able to see if windows reconizes it but doesn't have a drive letter assigned. By right clicking on the drive on the left of the window you should be able to perfrom many tasks on each drive.

I hope this isn't to confusing and that it helps.
