Unlocking 2600+ vs 2500+

Why is it the net has multiple guides on unlocking the 2500+ and hardly any on the 2600+? I want to unlock the 2600+ and I find guides that say to connect the all the L3 bridges and some that say connect all the L5 bridges, and even others that say just to connect the last bridge on the L5 jumper. Which is the right way? Also, are there multiple ways to do it depending on whether I want to lower the multiplier or raise it?

Why do you need to change the multiplier? You can't take the FSB speed to an appropriate level? Just by going to 192 on the FSB you'd get the speed of the 3200+. I took my 2600+ to 11x200 right away, of course mine wasn't multiplier locked.

Alright, I'll try that. back on topic though, I found another couple guides that say you need to wire tie two pins together before you seat the processor. Still wondering about that.
