Gigabyte 7N400 Pro 2 mobo and Ati 9700

I have a Gigabyte 7N400 Pro 2 mobo and Ati 9700 all in wonder. Have constant graphics problems, stripes on folder icons, highlighting around icons, striping on desktop.

I have multiple mobos and multiple ati cards this is the first time i have ever experienced this problem.

This ati card was in a soyo mobo and working fine until i put it in the gigabyte

Is there a conflict between ati and nforce 2 ultra 400.

Gigabyte & Ati told me to update my unified drivers but that didn't help.

Any suggestions

Have you checked to see what AGP speed (4x - Auto) setting you're running in the BIOS?

While I seriously doubt this is the problem how big is your powersupply and is it a good model?

Also, I know there's a program that COMPLTELY removes ATi drivers from you system but I don't know the name of it. For NVidia cards it's called Detonator Destroyer (that may help you in your search).

What OS are you using? When you installed Windows was it a clean install or an upgrade?

I just to my GB 7N400 Pro 2 installed yesterday and love it. Hope you get this problem worked out.

Welcome to TechIMO.

You're doing just fine. Keep in mind that puncutation is a valuable tool in getting your question answered though. I know I won't read an entire post if I can't figure out what I'm reading on the second try. (that being said, my posts are full of typos and spelling errors so.. )

I'd try setting the agp to 4x in the BOIS and see if that helps. Again, I doubt that this would help any but what do you have your color settings set at? Mine's set at 32bit.

What version of the chipset drivers are you running at? I used the one's that came off my cd but when I rebuild this box in a week (this is just my trial build) I'll use the later version.

If this is a fresh install (you don't have any data on the machine yet) you have nothing to loose by uninstalling your current drivers and trying an older set. It could be that clears up your problem.

Here's the Gigabyte NForce2 FAQ:

http://www.nforcershq.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=29691

While you may not find the answer you're looking for there's some really good information in there. It's definitely worth the look. And while we have some really knowledgable people here if you don't get an answer I bet the folks there could help you out too if need be.
