secondary display confusion

hi

i usually watch movies from comp to TV, Monitor resolution at 1152x864 & TV resolution set to 800 x 600 which has always filled the TV screen perfectly.
I have the full screen device set to secondary display so that when a movie is played on PC it auto sets full screen on the TV.
this has worked fine until i updated the drivers, now the full screen display on the TV is a much smaller box. even though the resoultion is the same.

i've tried adjusting every setting - 640x480 display does go to full screen but crops allot of the viewing area off, so no good, what i would need to do is to zoom out slightly to make 640x480 look perfect, but the zoom function is already maxed to out.

card - Gforce2 mx400 tv out (fully updated drivers)
Winxp pro

any ideas
thanks

Welcome to TechIMO. As a guess, I'd look for a setting for the aspect ratio( Wide Screen) Maybe you are seeing a letterbox version on tv.

thanks for reply, but no. i know about aspect ratio. the last time i saw it this size, the resoulution was 740 x ?? something.
800x600 fits my TV perfectly, 640x480 fits the screen though crops part of the movie off.
it does say that its at 800x600 but i just dont believe it. guess im just going to have to roll back the drivers

Thats probably your best bet. Since your card is so old, the new drivers are so advanced they can actually be non-beneficial.

Do the NVidia cards have TV-out size/position adjustments like the ATi cards do? Check your driver properties - this is usually deeply buried in some subsubsubwindow.
