Outdoors Processor problems!

I have just got a AMD Athlon XP 2500+ and my MoBo Clearly says it supports up to a AMD Athlon XP 2600+ Or higher and i put in in everything Tempiture is good everything but its detecting 1.10 i put the FSB all the way up as high as it could 131 and it detected 1.44 and my system became unstable and crahsed alot i even used my motherboards liveupdate utility and got the proper bios flash and flashed my bios and still 1.10 if you guys could help me that would be great!!!! The "multiplier" on your processor is set at 11. So, 133 mhz x 11 = 1441 mhz, or 1.44 Ghz.

What ram are you using? That is probably the reason for the instability. It will run SDR or DDR ram, but not both at the same time.

The highest ram your mobo supports is PC 2100, running at 133 mhz FSB.

The 2500 runs stock at 166 x 11, or 1883 mhz, but requires at least Pc 2700 to run at that speed.

I am running 512 Mb od DDR RAM 333mhz............ans hwats the multiplayer

Some mobo's require that you change the jumper to change the base fsb. I think the fsb that you pushed up to 131 is for overclocking (if it was done in the bios). Even some of the newer boards are not "jumper free".

Check your mobo manual for the details.

Well in the bios i whent to Voltage/frequency and whent to FBS Clock and it whent up to 131
