IBM 600E Backlight problem

Guys:

I have bought a used IBM 600E which turns off its backlight about 5 minutes after it is turned on. Does anybody have an idea what might do this? Is there a display power management function---something like a screen saver---that turns off the backlight to save battery power?

you can check 'power option' in control panel. you can select a better power scheme in there. or you can set the timers manually.
